David J. Greenblatt, M.D., has been a staff member since 1979 at Tufts University School of Medicine, serving in roles such as professor of psychiatry, medicine, and anesthesia; chair of the department of pharmacology and experimental therapeutics; and program director and associate program director of the institution’s Clinical/Translational Research Center. He is also the editor-in-chief of Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, operated by the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, as well as the co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
Native to Newtown, Massachusetts, Greenblatt is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Amherst College. He also attended Harvard Medical School and then trained in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since the late 1960s he has been an active investigator in the area of molecular and clinical pharmacology. Greenblatt’s PubMed listing includes more than 1,000 publications, which include 780 original research reports, and he has received the support of the National Institutes of Health for more than 35 years.
