Study Schedule:
Screening Visit, Study Visit, Device Testing at Home, Follow-Up Visit. The process of Study Visit, Device Testing at Home, and Follow-Up Visit may be repeated 6 to 12 times over the course of one year, depending on the needs of the study.
Clinilabs is now enrolling healthy adults for a research study for the development of an algorithm for Smart Glasses to be used by individuals of all visual ability.
We are looking for a wide range of participants to join this study, including adults with moderate visual impairment and blindness.
There is no cost to participate. Those who qualify will receive compensation for time and participation, plus reimbursement for travel. We encourage you to review the participation requirements listed below.
Qualified participants must be:
- At least 22 years of age or older
- In generally good health
- Familiar with technology and able to use a Smart Phone and Smart Glasses after instruction from the clinic team
- Diagnosed with moderate visual impairment or blindness
- Note: Moderate visual impairment is considered 20/60 to 20/200, Legal blindness 20/200 or lower
- Able to complete daily activities without the use of prescription glasses (contact lenses are allowed)
- Able and willing to:
- Attend all visits in Manhattan, New York
- Take the Smart Glasses home for data collection periods of 3-7 days each round
- Return to the site for follow-up visits and to bring back the Smart Glasses
- Complete on-site pre-qualification testing including, but not limited to, medical history review and eye screening tests
Participants may receive compensation up to $800 for time and participation in Round 1, and up $1,200 for Rounds 2-12, plus reimbursement for travel per visit. Total compensation is dependent on the number of visits completed.
- $100 – Screening Visit
- $100 – Enrollment Visit(s)
- $100 – Data Collection, per day
- $100 – Follow-Up Visit(s)
- $200 – Completion Bonus, per round (for completing all data collection and returning the Smart Glasses)
- $80 – Roundtrip travel visit reimbursement, with receipts
